POLICIES & PRACTICES

Advertising & affiliate disclosure

Readers should be able to tell when a commercial relationship is part of the page they are reading.

Effective & last updated: October 29, 2026

1. The practical meaning of an affiliate link

An affiliate link is a link through which a publisher may earn a commission if a visitor takes an agreed action, such as buying from a merchant. The merchant or network may use link identifiers, cookies, or conversion records to attribute that action. A commission is compensation to the publisher, not evidence that the product is effective.

The launch journal currently contains no commission-earning product links or sponsored articles. This policy describes the standards that apply if commercial content is introduced. It does not imply that we have a partnership with any named merchant or network.

2. What a disclosure should say

When an article includes commission-earning links, it should say in plain language that we may earn a commission from purchases through those links. That notice belongs where readers can see it before or alongside the relevant recommendation. A footer policy alone is not a substitute for a clear notice on the article.

Sponsored content should carry a clear label such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored.” If a product has been supplied without charge, or a brand has funded a placement, that material relationship should also be stated.

3. How commercial relationships can affect a page

Commercial arrangements can affect which offers are available to feature, whether a placement appears, and how a promoted comparison is presented. If payment influences placement or ordering, readers should be told on that page. Do not assume a commercial comparison covers every product on the market or ranks options using a universal formula.

An editorial buying guide should distinguish stated specifications from observations and explain the basis of any comparison. We do not describe desk research as hands-on testing. A brand’s marketing claim remains a brand claim unless independently substantiated.

4. Prices, offers & purchases

Following an affiliate link does not itself add a fee charged by this publication. However, prices, discounts, bundles, shipping, taxes, and subscription terms are set by the seller and may differ between offers. We do not guarantee a lowest price or that a promotion remains available.

Confirm all transaction details on the merchant’s checkout page. The seller named on your receipt handles delivery, returns, refunds, warranties, and recurring charges. Wellbeing Current does not take payment or ship products.

5. Reviews, samples & testimonials

Providing a sample or proposing a paid relationship does not guarantee positive editorial coverage. We do not fabricate customer experiences, professional endorsements, or laboratory results. If a page quotes a testimonial, it should not imply that one person’s result is typical without support.

Stock or illustrative photography does not document a product test. Any description of testing should identify what was assessed and the relevant limits. A comparison score is not a clinical finding or regulatory approval.

6. Privacy when you leave the site

An external merchant or affiliate network handles information under its own privacy policy. Its technologies and choices may differ from ours. Read our privacy policy and cookie policy for information about the publication itself.

7. Report an unclear relationship

If a label, link, or recommendation seems unclear, send the exact page address to server@wellbeingcurrent.com. We can investigate and make the disclosure more useful. Brands can use the same address for inquiries, but we do not promise editorial outcomes in exchange for payment.
